A Few Show Notes

It’s another Sunday night (October 23rd, 2022) here on late talks on air on The Nancy Duffy Show – welcome back!

Peter Werbe, Author of Summer on Fire: A Detroit Novel and long-time show host of Nightcall

This week I had the privilege of speaking with special guest Peter Werbe. Now, if you’re a late-night radio fan, you’ll already know this name, especially if you hail from the Detroit area.

Peter Werbe is a long-time figure in alternative and commercial media in Detroit and a political activist. He is a member of the editorial board of Fifth Estate magazine.

His professional career was as a DJ on Detroit’s major rock stations, WABX, WRIF, and WCSX. He hosted Nightcall, which was WRIF’s phone-in talk show — the longest-running such program in U.S. radio history, from 1970 to 2016!

He recently authored his first book, Summer on Fire – A Detroit Novel.

Tune in as we discuss Peter’s body of work in radio and activism – and his novel going back to Detroit circa 1967.

I hope you enjoy this conversation. Let me know your thoughts in the comments or leave me your voice message on our contact page!
