Show Notes

Welcome to Episode No. 78 – for Tuesday evening, April 7th, 2020. Never before have countries been under so much pressure to secure their citizens against an invisible enemy – at a time when people, products, and services have become so globally intertwined.

In this episode, we discuss the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), which started Monday, April 6th, 2020, as a temporary measure to provide funds for individuals and families while helping to shore up the economy until the next new normal. This plan had to come about quickly, so it’s no surprise that it’s not perfect and now seems merely a start.

Irek Kusmierczyk, the Parliamentary Secretary to Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development, and Disability Inclusion, joins today’s show to help answer some of your questions and concerns.
