Show Notes
This episode was recorded live Sunday, July 17th, 2022.
These past few years have forced us to rethink many things we have taken for granted—like food! No, this is not an episode about the supply chain or food security but rather one of food appreciation.
In the 1960’s Julia Child once said,
“Cooking is one failure after another, and that’s how you finally learn.”
Fast-forward to more recent history—shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Top Chef have shifted the emphasis from savouring moments of gathering, joy, and sustenance that food can provide to one of performance and perfection instead (this excludes, of course, the great Anthony Bourdain, whose shows I adored ♡).
I’m grateful for my many food failures and for all those I will fail at still (may there be plenty!). I am happy to share here a humble dinner experience of my own. Thank you, Julia. Thank you, Anthony!
Best,
